As the old saying says, when you design a room, you must learn to live with it for a long time. The interior does not tend to undergo seasonal changes in a flash of time. However, recent years required us to turn inward while we had made some unfortunate decisions before the lockdown.

Now that we have dealt with the pandemic and settled back into our ergonomic chairs, residential design trends for the coming year address personal and global concerns. 

Though 2022 was all about soothing color palettes, 2023 emerged by bringing in bright, statement-making designs. Here are some of the latest interior design trends of 2023 for residential predicted by us.

 

1 – Warm Neutrals Back From 1990s

Bring on the white, brown, and cream. Back in the neutrals that give cool hues evocated from the 1990s. Neutral colors are currently preferred for houses to express harmony and optimism, enveloping spaces in a sense of coziness and well-being.
 

2 – Natural materials

There has been a growing trend towards using natural materials like wood, stone, and metals for interior and exterior patio of the house. These materials add an elegant texture to a space and create a calming atmosphere.

3 – Biophilic design

This approach connects people with nature by implementing and inculcating natural elements like plants, and natural light into interior spaces. Niophilic design improves mental health and reduces stress.

4 – Bold patterns and color

Over the years there has been a shift towards bold colors for spacious interior spaces. Playful use of colors and patterns in interior design. This trend gives more energy and space.

5 – Curved furniture

Over the years, there has been curved furniture emerging in trend such as sofas and chairs with rounded edges. This trend adds fluidity to a space and is effective with sharp edges to small spaces.

6 – Statement ceilings

While the walls and floors of a room have traditionally been the focus of interior design, statement ceilings are becoming increasingly popular. This can include bold paint or wallpaper, exposed beams, or intricate molding. Statement ceilings can add depth and interest to a room, and can be particularly effective in rooms with high ceilings.

7 – Vintage and antique pieces

“Retro interior” refers to Indian interior design from the 1960s and 1970s. The interior of this decade is back and incorporating the newest fashions. Bright hues are once again in style, and the space can be accented with brilliant wallpaper, a carpet, a sofa, chair seats, and cushions, usually with floral patterns or vibrant colours. Due to the clear structural and functional boundaries, it simultaneously creates many challenges and offers the chance to explore and experiment with creativity.
